This generous family home based in Houghton called for a refurbishment and pool remodel. The client wanted a naturalistic eco pool as the focal area. And so, we started with the pool area and the landscaping followed thereafter.

Due to the larger size of this Houghton garden and the slight sloping site we built wooden decking boardwalks and retaining wall creating two distinct tiered areas. Naturalistic pathways add an air of mystery which lead to various seating areas. Natural stone cladding adds an earthy tone and provide the perfect backdrop to the swimming pool.

A generous tiled area behind the pool added definition and opportunities for entertaining. The ecofriendly pool is fringed by aquatics, water Lillies and marginal plants, Sedges and rushes, which do most of the work in keeping the water clean and clear in this Houghton space.

Informal drifts of Perennials and textured grasses blur the boundary of the water and the surrounds, creating a haven of hovering dragonflies, happy frogs and water loving life.
