Within this gated community of Bryanston, lies a glimpse of the wild. The clients brief for this Bryanston Garden, was to create more entertaining space and incorporate naturalistic plants and features that would attract more wildlife – reflective of their love for the African bush.

We designed the garden to be in tune with nature, as well as a space to entertain friends and family effortlessly.

The central feature of this small Bryanston Garden is a wetland pond and a floating deck above, acting as a focal point and perfect for lounging. A fire pit was built to enjoy at night and give the feeling of sitting in a far off bush lodge. Earthly concrete stepping stones and weathered deck combine to create a contemporary, natural setting. Succulents and grasses bring interest and contrast to the area. Bullrushes, Sedges and Water Lillies blur the edge of the wetland and pond, while Stink Wood Trees and Aloes gives a feeling of structure and establishment to this modern Bryanston wilderness.
